Alex toured some of the best playgrounds and beaches on the East Side of Seattle this weekend. He went to Coulon Park in Renton and St. Edwards Park in Kenmore. Both parks had spectacular playgrounds plus beaches on Lake Washington. Here is a picture of Alex very tired after a hike at St. Edwards Park.
On Saturday, we went to the Seattle Sounders soccer game at Qwest Field. Alex loved the tailgate party and the game. He got tired after 9pm but he toughed it out for nearly the entire game.

Sports Fan
On Saturday, Alex played with his friend and neighbor-across-the-street Nathan. Nathan is just a few months younger than him. They had a great time. He also went to a barbeque with one a Daddy's friends. Alex really liked the dog.
In the evening, Alex watched soccer at home. He is a big sports fan. Here he is watching soccer with Mommy.

Thank You!
Alex would like to say "Thank You" to Grandma Brady who sent him a great present for Easter. Alex played with the horses, sheep, flowers, and the family in the playset all last evening. Here is Alex opening the present and saying "Thank You" to Grandma Brady.

Easter Egg Hunt
Alex had a fun second Easter. This year he did an egg hunt at home and found eleven eggs with M&Ms in them. This is a long and exciting video.
Alex also visited Grandpa and Grandma Felton's new house in Cle Elum on Friday. Here is Alex at a posh playground near the house.
He also had a brunch with Mommy's family on Saturday.

Go, Dog. Go!
For the last month or two, Alex has asked for one book in particular every night before bed. He calls the book "Go Go Go" or "Dog Go Go" and sometimes by its title "Go, Dog. Go!". The book has many simple sentences. Alex now seems to understand many of the prepositions, conjunctions, and adjectives in addition to the nouns that he learned a while ago. He knows every page of this book and can name most of the pictures (e.g., the yellow ladder, the colors of the dogs, the ice cream, the birds on the swing, the fish, the hat, the stoplight, etc.).
His favorite part is when the dogs stop their cars. Alex yells "Stop!" and raises his arms up just like the bird in the book.
We have read this book many many many times and we suspect Alex is about to move on to a different book soon. He has definitely learned a lot from this one.

New Class
Alex is really liking his new class at school. We think he likes the mental stimulation of the more challenging class, the older kids, and the new toys. His new teacher Teri has commented about what a great sense of humor he has and how smart he is. When we drop him off in the mornings now he is glad to go to his new classroom. He has learned a lot of new words already since he started the new class last week. He is also trying the potty in his classroom when he wants to.
