Julia's Favorite Spot

Julia and Mom have not been overly ambitious the last 2 weeks.  Julia spends much of her time napping on the pillow in Mom's lap.  It's probably time for us to find some activities.  Last night we did have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa F.  We also picked up Alex from daycare.  Alex's friends were very interested in Julia.  Alex told everyone her name and was very protective when his friends wanted to touch her or rock her car seat.

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

Alex and Julia really enjoyed seeing Grandpa Stewart and Grandma Jane this weekend.  We went to the zoo, Costco, and played at home.  We also enjoyed dinner with the Gills Friday night.  Alex especially liked showing Kaye and Lila the new art easel he got when he became a big brother.  And he liked showing everyone his soccer and baseball talents.

Great First Week

Julia was born one week ago last night.  She has had a great first week.  She eats every 2.5 hours and is a good sleeper.  She really doesn't cry yet.  Alex has had a great first week as a big brother.  He gives lots of kisses and is very gentle with his little sister.  He is slightly more agreeable to bedtime, knowing that mom needs to feed Julia.  We are very lucky to have such great kids.

Julia's First 3 Days at Home

Julia has enjoyed her first few days at home.  She's still very sleepy but likes to stare at her mom, dad, and especially her big brother.  Her schedule is that of a typical newborn and she doesn't like those chilly diaper changes.  We've been to the doctor the last 2 days for jaundice checks and her health is excellent.  She now weighs 6 lb 3oz, down from 6 lb 5oz at birth but up from 6 lb 0oz over the weekend.  Alex has started to teach her about soccer and Dora.

School Party

On Saturday, we had a party with Alex's school. Because Mommy is past week 37 in the pregnancy, she can now get up and move around. It was one of the first times she had been able to get up and move around outside in 6 weeks.

This picture is Alex, Teri his teacher, Colin his friend, and Colin's father.

Labor Day

Alex had a great Labor Day. His Mommy remains on bed rest until his sister is born. Over the weekend, Alex went to a party on Saturday with adults and kids and he played with his friend Gabe on Sunday. Alex was a great help taking care of Mommy while she cannot get up.
