Christmas 2010

Alex and Julia had a great Christmas! We stayed in Seattle for the first time ever. We did ice skating, Snowflake Lane (twice), garden 'delights' at the botanical gardens, making cookies, two brunches with the Feltons, and Christmas at home with our family.

Alex's favorite gift on Christmas Day was a marble drop set. Julia's favorite gift was whatever Alex was holding but she also liked a toddler laptop computer from Grandma Brady and Mommy's "Just Dance" Wii game.

Festive Weekend

This weekend Alex went ice skating for the first time. He had a lot of fun but doesn't need to go back "until I'm four or maybe five". We also went to brunch with the Feltons and Santa and to another party. And on Tuesday we went to see the holiday lights at the botanic garden. Alex is very excited for Christmas and is confident he is on the nice list. Julia mostly just likes candy canes.

A Visit with Santa

Alex and Julia had a rematch with Santa in Bellevue. They met him last year and at least Alex found him quite scary. Alex was still quite concerned about him this year but was able to get within a few feet of him. Julia was fearless with Santa last year, but she was quite concerned this year. Santa seemed the most scared of all.

Alex wrote a letter to Santa so he was able to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas. Daddy told Santa what Julia wants. “More, more, more, more” is her favorite thing to say right now and she usually signs at the same time she says the words.

Full Weekend

We had a full weekend. We did soccer practice and played with Nathan on Saturday. Julia was very excited to join in the soccer now that she can walk. Alex and Julia also made a gingerbread house (from Costco). On Sunday, we played at home and then went to Snowflake Lane in Bellevue. It was a lot of fun.

Alex and Julia are both very excited for Christmas!

Holiday

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend.  Everyone caught up on sleep and we had some great food.  We forgot our camera a few times when we were out and about so we have just a few pictures here.

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving:

Alex did some work on our laptop – here is a picture (we have ordered a new keyboard).DSC_1859

With Dad’s help, Julia decided to dress in her Vikings outfit today.

Snow!

We had a snow day yesterday (Tuesday) because Seattle had almost 3 inches of snow. Alex and Julia had a great time and were very very active all day. Back at school today, they each took very long naps to recover – Mom and Dad wish they could have taken long naps too.

This was the first time in almost a year that Julia had seen snow and she was very, very interested. Once she felt it, she was very concerned and wanted to get out of it. Alex enjoyed the snow until he got cold.

Alex walked up to a chalkboard this week and wrote his name. We are not sure who taught him, but we are very glad he can do it. Julia has added the words Wow! and Uh Oh! to her vocabulary – and she knows that those words need to be shouted too.
