Alex writes

Alex likes to color and write letters. Normally, it is unrecognizable. But this morning he says "I drew an A". And this is what it looked like. Julia likes to pull up to standing position. And her current favorite toy is this pretend hot dog. Alex and Julia also got this cool new fort when Julia's big girl car seat came in a giant box.

Summer!

Alex and Julia are starting to play together more frequently which is very fun to watch. We even had our first sympathy cry today where Julia cried out of sympathy for her big brother or to help express his point that they did not want to go to school at 7am. Alex has been playing soccer on the weekends and practicing his negotiation skills with Mommy and Daddy.

Julia has been crawling and saying vowel sounds. She likes the traditional "ga" and "ba" right now and has given us a couple long speeches. She is coming out of a screetching phase that was funny to listen to. She can also wave hello and goodbye -- sometimes.

Camping & Alex Turns 3

We've had a great couple of weeks. Alex turned 3 last Thursday. He got to do whatever he wanted after school so he chose:
- french fries at McDonald's
- 2 games of Candyland
- soccer
- baseball
- musical instruments
- birthday cake
- computer games
- no bed time
Mom and Dad were tired, so at 9:15pm Alex said "Mommy and Daddy, you can go to bed." So we did. Alex kept playing his computer games until 11pm when he came upstairs and fell asleep in our bed.

Over the weekend we went camping with some friends down south by Olympia. Friday was a little rainy but Saturday was perfect. We spent most of the time around the camp fire as it was colder than we planned for, especially at night. Julia discovered she likes pancakes. And Alex learned how to toast marshmallows. He likes to set them on fire first and then fling the stick around.
