Alex's big week

Alex had a really fun week.  First, he had Monday off to hang out with Dad and Julia.  Then he had spirit week at school.  He got to wear a silly hat, school colors, and pjs.  Yesterday, he was in his first ever chess tournament.  There were about 20 other Kindergartners and First Graders.  He won his first 2 matches, had a big comeback in his 3rd for a draw, and lost his last match to the champion.  He got 4th place and a really cool trophy.  Way to go Alex.

Harry Potter

At 11pm on Sunday, Alex announced he had finished reading the first Harry Potter book.  Good reading Alex!  At about 2 a.m. the next morning, he announced that he was very scared because of the return of Lord Voldemort at the end of the book.

We seem to be going to multiple birthday parties every weekend.  Very fun.  They both started individual swimming lessons and coach says they are hard workers who do their best.
