Julia turns 6!
We just held Julia's 6th birthday party our house. Julia organized the whole thing and it included a piƱata, xbox party game, dress up, ribbon dancing, cupcake decorating, and crafts. Attendees were Julia, Sasha, Trude, Nia, and Pia. It was a great time! On her real birthday we had a quiet dinner at home and she received great gifts including a microscope & slides, a backpack, clothes, and roller skates (which she has already mastered). Happy birthday Julia! Mommy also turned 40 which was not quite as exciting.
The School Year Begins - Julia Starts Kindergarten!
Julia was very very very excited to start Kindergarten at Open Window School! Her teacher is Ms. Geddis and she loves just about everything so far - even the bus. Ms. Geddis says she is really enthusiastic. Both kids are doing chess club and soccer (through NYSC). Alex is also doing Minecraft Club. His teacher is Ms. Iverson. Homework has ramped up for him, but he's settling into a routine. So far so good!
End of Summer
We had a quiet end of summer. Due to fires and John's new job, we didn't go to Stehekin. Instead we went explored Bellevue, visited mommy at work, went to the zoo, and got ready for school. Alex also lost some more teeth. Joanna had a fun trip to Spokane for sectionals where her team fell one match short of clinching a spot at nationals. She did win WA State in singles and was undefeated in league singles, so it was a very successful season!
