Special Night at the Mariners!

John threw out the first pitch at the Mariners tonight. Alex was his catcher. And Julia delivered the game ball. There were some nerves beforehand but everyone delivered under pressure. Nobody even messed up the chalk lines. Then we stayed on the field for the pre-game ceremony honoring Ichiro that included Felix, Edgar, and the Mariners owners. Then we watched the game from the 4th row first base side. Then the Mariners won 6-1. What a special night! Thanks BECU!

Spring Break!

We've had a low key spring break.  The biggest excitement was babysitting 6 baby chicks from Julia's class.  They are all still alive with one day to go.  It's been fun to watch their antics but we're ready to get our clean-smelling house back.  We've also played a lot of baseball (go Marlins!) and some new games - Ticket to Ride and Taboo are new favorites.  We went to Suncadia for one night.  And we had dinner with the Sekits.  Two weeks ago Joanna went to NorCal with the tennis crowd and had a heavenly time touring Stanford, playing tennis, watching tennis, and hanging out in SF.

We are well rested and ready to get back to the routine!

Queen's Quest 2017

Julia played in the all-girls chess tournament at Medina Elementary - Queen's Quest.  In the grade 1-3 division she got 3 wins and qualified for the state tournament!  Way to go Julia.  She mostly enjoyed hanging out with her friends and hasn't decided whether to play at state.

Father Daughter Dance

Julia and John had fun as always at the Father Daughter dance.  Luckily for John there are no dancing videos.
