Cannon Beach, OR

We did a 2-day 1-day jaunt to Cannon Beach, OR, including a stop at Fort Clatsop and a trip to the Tillamook Dairy (not worth the trip). Maeby LOVES running on the beach and we had so much fun watching her. She also did great in our dog friendly hotel room with zero barking. It was great to get away.

Bainbridge and Lopez Island Cycling

Mom cycled Bainbridge Island with Kris, Susie, and Tami and Lopez Island with Kris. Both were amazing, although the cycling on Lopez was so much fun with constant rolling hills. Bainbridge was 18.74 miles, 1,553 ft gain and Lopez was 34 miles, 2,148 ft gain. We saw eagles, herons, deer, raccoons. We are now experts at cycling on and off the ferry and want to plan a trip to San Juan Island soon.

Staying Cool!

Seattle had record heat in late June and early July, up to 109 degrees (although my car recorded 115). We don't have AC so it was tough to sleep a few nights and we spent a lot of time at the lake!

Around Town

Covid still isn't great for travel so we've had lots of adventures close to home: Suncadia, rec club, Sounders, cycling to Top Pot and around town, and the 4th of July Parade. Mom also took a trail running class through the mountaineers and saw some great new trails like Teneriffe, Twin Falls, and Dirty Harry's Balcony.
