LA Visit

We had a very exciting 5-day trip to LA.  It started with the Chadwick Class of '93 20th Reunion.  We had a blast - everyone looks the same and is doing well.  We probably had at least 40 people back.

Then we hit the beach, pool, movies, and more beach.  Alex and Julia really loved playing in the sand and digging up sand crabs and splashing the water.  No one wanted to venture in past their knees which was fine with us.  We also got together with our old friends Kelly and Darren and their kids.  It was so great to catch up and the kids got along great.  Julia kept calling their daughter "Tag" when her name is actually "Chase".  Cute.  Chase gave Julia a special Eeyore donkey that she calls Jesse.

Then we did 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure.  Alex and Julia love roller coasters, especially fast ones with lots of ups and downs.  By far the best was Cars Racers.  We also liked the Soaring Over California ride, Star Tours, and the coaster at Toon Town.  We didn't like Roger Rabbit and Ferris Wheel wasn't worth the wait.  Alex even got to do the Jedi Training and fight Darth Vader.  Julia got to meet Minnie Mouse and a few princesses, but she was most interested in fast roller coasters.

Alex's Last Day of Kindergarten

Alex finished kindergarten today!  He had an assembly where the head of school asked all the kindergartners to raise their hands.  Alex knew it was a trick and didn't raise his hand since he's now a first grader.  To celebrate there was a school picnic at a park.  Then Alex went to the doctor for his 6-year check up.  He's in perfect health.  He's 50 percentile height and weight.  He has perfect 20-10 vision.  When the doctor asked his favorite activities, he said "i-pad, riding bikes, and looking for bugs".  As we were leaving, we overheard the nurse say to the doctor "he's sure a talkative guy".  The doctor said "Yes, he's a cutie", which is true!

Busy June So Far

We've had a fun-filled few weeks.  First off was family camp at Camp Seymour, a YMCA camp near Gig Harbor, with OWS.  We did archery, rock climbing, canoeing, crafts, pinhuck, and camp fires.  Everyone had a blast.  Alex climbed up the climbing wall all the way to the top!  Mom couldn't even do that.

Then we had Alex's 6th birthday party with his friends.  It was at the bouncy houses at Arena Sports which was a big hit.  Alex has a nice group of friends.  The party was an army guy theme.

Then we had a Felton family reunion at Suncadia.  Alex's highlight was searching for missing golf balls with plans to sell them and use the proceeds on pokemon cards.  Julia's highlight was helping the girls win trivia pursuit with a series of lucky dice rolls.  Everyone enjoyed seeing their cousins and extended family.  Then, Sunday afternoon, Julia did some runs in the sprinkler to cool off.
