Suncadia

To cap our quiet holiday season, we went to Suncadia with G&G for one night. Maeby really really really likes running in the snow. Her inner shepherd comes out when we are sledding. We also played scrabble and grandma won.

Merry Christmas 2020

We had a really nice, fairly quiet Christmas season. We got negative COVID tests and were able to spend Christmas Day with Grandma and Grandpa Felton. We had 3 zoom calls with different combinations of Bradys and Stewarts. We did a lot of walks and baked Christmas cookies and did gingerbread houses (Julia's was a murder scene). The presents were awesome. Julia got some Office memorabilia. Both kids got Amazon Echos - they're excited to have better alarms and music in their rooms. Alex also got smart lightbulbs where he can control the brightness and color. Julia and Mom got grandma's hand-me-down Rolex which is very special. Julia's big gift was a new phone (iPhone 11). Everyone got some clothes and mom got a heartrate monitor for the peloton. John and Alex also got some gift cards since they're tough to shop for. Maeby got a chew toy, water bottle, jacket, and peanut butter bone. Thank you, family!

Julia participated in Reddit secret santa where SS thought she'd like a book about Why Nations Fail which appears to be intended for phd economists. We got a good laugh out of that.

Most exciting was Maeby's first snow. She was very excited and loves playing in it.

More hiking, cooking, and Maeby

Washington shut down again in November to combat COVID. Gyms and restuarants closed. Nothing much changed in our life except mom switched from the gym to the peloton. We did a lot of hikes/walks, snuggles with Maeby, and cooking. For Thanksgiving, we were mostly vegan (except for costco pumpkin pie). We saw G&G for a couple of social distanced walks.

Late Fall

We've had a bunch of fall adventures - Julia climbed mailbox peak, Alex did a bunch of bike rides including one to grandma's, lots of little hikes with Maeby, Joanna and John hiked Heather - Maple Pass Loop in the North Cascades. Virtual school and work from home are going ok, although the pandemic is getting worse and worse. We've been tuned into politics this election season and it appears we'll have a new president in January (yay!). Julia has soccer practice twice a week and had 3 practice games, but now the games are canceled due to worse covid numbers.

Mostly, we all love snuggling with Maeby :) We got her DNA test and she's 26% great pyrenees, 21% chow chow, 13% australian cattle dog, 13% lab, 11% hovawart, 6% russell terrier, 6% chihuahua, 2% jindo, and 2% rat terrier. What a global combination! And she got to meet her brother Bananas again and they had a great time playing. She's now 40 lbs, up from 30 four weeks ago and 20 when we got her. Hopefully she doesn't continue to gain 10 lbs per month!
