The EPS Girls Ultimate team once again won the Emerald Sound Conference. They were unstoppable! Julia had a ridiculuous number of athletic catches and was fierce on defense. She even did some throws. Unfortunately, they lost in the quarters of state in a heartbreaker. But they qualified for nationals in Salem, OR for the first time. Julia loved ultimate so much that she's decided to do a club team, 7 Hills Ultimate, this summer.

XWA
John completed the XWA, a cross Washington mountain bike ride. It took him 6 days to go about 550 miles. The weather was great but the trail was very difficult at times. He enjoyed the comraderie in the group, too. Way to go, John!

Random Other Spring Activities
John did BWR Arizona. Joanna played soccer every week with the O50 Seattle Heat. We had a tiny bit of snow. Joanna saw Zarna Garg with Heidi, Lora, and Alison. We toured the Blue Origin factory. The new lightrail opened up. Alex came home from college (a very long summer). And we went to the Mariners game with the Tintles.

The end of club soccer
Julia did Surf GA soccer this year. She was able to balance that with school sports and academics. We are very proud of her organization and work ethic. She has decided to quit club soccer, so it's the end of an era. No one is too sad, though.

La Jolla 50s Hardcourts
Joanna got 5th place in the level 1 hardcourts, losing to Julie T 6-2 6-3 and then winning the back draw (some good wins). In doubles, we got 4th place, losing to number 2 and 3. It was a triumph just to play after struggling with the elbow so badly this year. What a fun tournament, great friends, and magical city. I would love to move there someday!

She Believes Summit and the USWNT
We saw the USWNT in Seattle for the first time in many years. Unfortunately, they lost to JP in horrible conditions. The next day was the She Believes Summit which was amazing. It was a series of inspirational speakers - star athletes, business people, government leaders - coming together to support women's sports and network. We got free breakfast and lunch. We saw stars like Hilary Knight, Julie Foudy, Emma Hayes, Melinda French Gates. Julia got to meet Coach Jackie and another influencer and she had a lunch conversation with Rough and Tumble founder Jen Barnes (who would love to hire her if she were 18). It was incredible!

Julia visits the Yukon for EBC
The Yukon is a province in Canada near Alaska. That was the destination for Julia's EBC trip. She learned about the environment, first nations people, and lots of wildlife.
