We've had a great start to 1st and 4th grade. Julia really likes math and art. Alex really likes reading and having a laptop in class. Everyone likes science and minecraft club.
Joanna's 40+ team fell 3 points short of going to nationals over the weekend in Spokane. What a bummer! It was a great and really fun season. I lost 2 league matches all year and won the Central Park and WA State Open. Not working has been great for my tennis.
We resumed our annual trip to Stehekin this year, and for the first time Joanna and the kids hiked in from Rainy Pass. We went really hard - 12 miles on day one and 8 miles on day two - in order to have more time at the ranch. The kids were troopers! They pushed through blisters, 90 degree heat, heavy packs, and lots of dirt. The scenery and tranquility were amazing.
In Stehekin, we kept up our routine of horse back riding, horsey swing, pie, throwing rocks in the river, bike riding, organic garden, swimming in Lake Chelan, Rainbow Falls, and junior ranger. Can't wait til next year!
Late post with some swim team highlights. Very proud of Alex and Julia for making such a big commitment to swim team this year. They both showed dramatic improvement and had a great time.
