Queen's Quest 2017

Julia played in the all-girls chess tournament at Medina Elementary - Queen's Quest.  In the grade 1-3 division she got 3 wins and qualified for the state tournament!  Way to go Julia.  She mostly enjoyed hanging out with her friends and hasn't decided whether to play at state.

Father Daughter Dance

Julia and John had fun as always at the Father Daughter dance.  Luckily for John there are no dancing videos.

Sun Peaks

Our snowy fun continued in Sun Peaks over mid-winter break. We stayed with Joanna's friend Andrea and her family in a condo and got 3 days of great skiing in. Everyone has improved a lot!

Other activities of late: indoor soccer, Mariner's fanfest, tennis, baseball, chess, 80's night at school, hanging out. Julia has been working hard on a raptor project and Alex on a Thomas Edison project. Neither ever need or want any help from parents! One of Joanna's tennis teams won their division. And John got a new car (Chevy Volt).

Winter Fun!

We've had a lot of snow this winter, including about a foot earlier this week that left us trapped without power!  3 snow days so far plus skiing, sledding, skating.  Kids have been playing soccer and chess.  We went to a fun 80's party at school, the art museum, and the zoo.  Julia has been doing lots of craft projects, including building a house. Alex has gotten into building video games in Scratch.
