We stayed close to home for the holidays this year and did our normal circuit of snowflake lane, garden d'lights, ice skating, zoo, Suncadia, and family get together. The kids also got to go to the real Nutcracker with their cousins. They said they liked it and are glad they went but don't plan to go again. Mom and Julia did the Jingle Bell Run (lots of spirit!) and Alex and John went to the Vikings game. Julia got her ears pierced and has been very diligent about taking care of them. We also spent time at the Bellevue Club and did two 1,000 piece puzzles (and then immediately posted them on Buy Nothing Bellevue so we never have to do them again). We did lots of holiday baking and cooking including an awesome brined turkey. For Christmas Eve we watch Elf (so good!) and for New Year's Eve we watched Shawshank Redemption. Presents were nothing crazy - John got a vitamix, Alex got a cotton candy maker, Julia got a nerf gun and new coat, Joanna got some workout clothes, and Sofia got some clothes and slippers. Just before the holidays, Alex had his 2nd debate tournament of the year and again went undefeated!
We are so lucky to have this time as a family!
