Today's news:
-- The doctors removed one of Alex's main monitors, his blood-oxygen saturation monitor. This is good news, but not really because his condition has changed. They removed it because he has been in a normal range for weeks without any additional monitoring or support.
-- He 'nippled' a full bottle in the morning and about 2/3 of a bottle later in the day.
-- His weight was up to 6 lbs., 4 oz. He gained 2 oz. since yesterday. It must be all the good sleep he is getting.
-- Alex was pretty sleepy when we saw him in the morning and again in the evening. He opened his eyes a few times, but it was not until the nurses had to kick us out for a shift change that he opened his eyes, looked around and looked like he was smiling at everyone.
